The 7^th Judicial District of the New York Supreme Court encompasses the City of Rochester and its surroundings; the entirety of Monroe County; and the counties of Wayne, Ontario, Seneca, Cayuga, Yates, Livingston, and Steuben. While the 7^th Judicial District's jurisdiction expands far beyond Rochester's borders, the court is nonetheless headquartered in the city, which is both the largest population center and political seat of Monroe County. Consequently, Monroe County hosts many of the region's most critical infrastructures. Some relevant Rochester and Monroe County courts include:

1. The Monroe County Hall of Justice: The Monroe County Hall of Justice is located at 99 Exchange Boulevard, Rochester, New York 14614. The Hall of Justice houses the 7^th Judicial District of the New York State Supreme Court and its administrative offices, the Monroe County Supreme Court, the Rochester City Court, the Monroe County Family Court, the Monroe County Surrogate Court, and several judicial offices, including the Monroe County Clerk and the Commissioner of Jurors and Central Jury Room. The Hall of Justice is open 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
2. The Monroe County Supreme Court: The Monroe County Supreme Court, as well as the offices for the 7^th Judicial District of the New York Supreme Court, are both located in the Monroe County Hall of Justice. The Monroe County Supreme Court hears a variety of cases from across the county, including personal injury claims that involve a Monroe County plaintiff or defendant. The Monroe County Supreme Court is located in Room 545 of the Hall of Justice and is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and it is closed on weekends.
